The Schools Division Office of Caloocan through the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) headed by Education Program Supervisor/OIC – Chief, Dr. Jocelyn M. Aliñab, provided support and technical assistance in the recruitment of teacher applicants for school year 2020-2021. Public School District Supervisors assigned to their respective schools oversaw the demonstration teaching and interview of teachers aspiring to teach in the public schools in the division.
The conduct of the hiring procedures on teacher – applicants from Kindergarten to Senior High School was undertaken pursuant to the division memoranda issued by Schools Division Superintendent – Dr. Nerissa L. Losaria, CESO VI. The demonstration teaching and interview of teacher-applicants were held simultaneously across all learning areas and in the different schools in the division last May 11-25, 2020. School Heads chaired the review and evaluation of the applicants’ credentials as well as the interview and demonstration teaching activities. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, they have encountered challenges since the process they underwent was entirely different from the former normal procedure which was face-to-face. In the New Normal, they had to connect to teleconferencing platforms like Zoom, Google Meet or Facebook Messenger in order to successfully undertake the recruitment activities.
Despite the current COVID-19 pandemic, SDO Caloocan does not falter in its service to its constituents. As DepEd Secretary Leonor M. Briones says, “This is the purpose of Sulong EduKalidad – to move forward together as we prepare the education system for the future.”
